Tin Foil Phoenix is a post-grunge band from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The band regrouped in 1997 from the ashes of a previous incarnation of the band under the moniker of Sonic Bloom with core members Michael Allen Zirk and Steven Kray. Guitarist Fish joined soon thereafter. Bassist Paul Robinson joined the band in 1999 and two years later, they added another guitarist, Phil Cholosky. In 2001, they released Hurry, an independent seven-song EP. Its first single, Neopolitan, got a great amount of airplay on Canadian radio. The song soon caught the music industry's attention and the band was signed to 604 Records/Universal in August 2002.
