Tommy Womack (born November 20, 1962 in Sturgis, Kentucky) is an American
Singer-songwriter, musician and author.
Womack has a long history as a songwriter and as a musician with many
bands and recording artists/acts, both defunct and active. His recordings
span multiple genres: folk, rock, country, alt-country, and indie music all
being represented in his repertoire. His songwriting talents have been
adopted by many touring and recording artists, most notably Todd Snider,
with whom Womack shares a long-standing friendship and affiliation, often
touring with Snider's band. Another notable singer/songwriter with whom
Womack has recorded and performed is Will Kimbrough.
Government Cheese, Bis-quits, & Daddy From 1985 through to 1992 Womack
played lead guitar, and was lead singer in the post-punk band Government
