Trapt are a four-piece post-grunge/alternative metal band originating from
Los Gatos, California in the United States.
History Trapt formed in 1997 with Chris Brown on vocals (born June
21,1979), Simon Ormandy playing guitar, Peter Charell on bass, and David
Stege playing the drums. Shortly after, they recorded two albums
(Amalgamation and Glimpse) to sell when they played at local venues. The
band received a great response, and a buzz started to grow.
The band proceeded to sign with Warner Bros. Records and started recording
their debut album, with the help of Robin Diaz replacing Stege on the drums
(Diaz was eventually replaced by their current drummer, Aaron Montgomery).
On November 22, 2002 the band released the self-titled Trapt which
produced a total of three singles. "Headstrong" was the first, and it
reached #1 on both the US Modern Rock and Us Mainstream Rock charts, as
well as #16 on the US
