Waco Jesus is a death metal/grindcore band from Illinois, founded in 1994. Their name is a reference to the Waco Massacre and Jesus Christ, though current singer Shane Bottens downplayed that significance.
Their lyrics cover such topics as pornography, scat, and snuff
, and in their lyrics and interviews they show some anti-globalization tenets, and often a violent anti-feminism and homophobia.
History
Waco Jesus was formed in 1994 by Kevin Mennsen. After recording a demo in 1996, they were signed to United Gutteral Records the next year, and released
The Destruction of Commercial Scum in 1999.
