The Wee Papa Girl Rappers were one of the first female British hip hop
groups to make an impact. They were formed by Sandra and Timmie Lawrence,
and their most famous moment was the song Wee Rule (Jive, 1988). Another
song Heat it Up was a popular dance song at the time.
The group released two albums on the prestigious Jive Records before they
split, but both at the time and now the group are viewed with a certain
amount of embarrassment by the British hip hop community[LINK:

[1] because of their pop oriented approach. However, as part of the first
groups to break through into the mainstream, they brought this new style
of music to the attention of a wider audience and greatly helped the
establishment of British hip hop - as well as paving the way for later
British girl pop acts.
