Woods of Ypres is a Canadian melodic black metal band. They play a style that has somewhat Doom Metal influenced with a darker atmosphere. They are signed to Krankenhaus Records, which is David Gold's record company. Biography Woods of Ypres was formed in 2002 by David Gold, Aaron Palmer and Brian McManus. The trio released the first Woods Of Ypres demo, Cold Winter Songs from the Dead Summer Heat, the same year. In 2003, David Gold moved to Toronto to begin working on a full length album. A keyboard player, Jessica Lukawski was added, as well as Connor Sharpe on bass and Steve Jones on guitar.
